District Metals Corp. (TSXV:âŊDMX) has announced the discovery of a major airborne Mobile Magnetotelluric (MobileMT) anomaly across its 100%âowned ÃsterkÃĪlen Property in JÃĪmtland County, northâcentral Sweden. The survey outlined a conductive lowâresistivity zone measuring approximately 8âŊkm long and up to 3.5âŊkm wide, which the company interprets as a substantial target of alum shale â a geological formation known to host critical and strategic metals.
This exploration advancement supports District Metalsâ strategy to identify drillâready targets within its alum shale properties portfolio. It comes as the company also filed for an adjacent licence to expand the anomalyâs coverage area. The results mirror signatures previously observed at Districtâs flagship Viken Property.
While Sweden currently holds a moratorium on uranium mining, the government has indicated potential removal of the restriction as of JanuaryâŊ1,âŊ2026 â opening prospects for uraniumârich zones and associated polymetallic potential in regions such as this.
