Valkea Resources Bolsters Board and Leadership Team with Strategic Appointments
Vancouver, British Columbia — Valkea Resources Corp. (“Valkea” or the “Company”), a gold exploration company focused on high-potential assets in Finland’s Central Lapland Gold Belt, has announced a series of strategic leadership and technical appointments designed to elevate its corporate governance, technical capabilities and capital markets expertise. These appointments are effective immediately, reflecting Valkea’s commitment to scaling its operations and discovery potential in one of the world’s most promising gold exploration regions.
Overview of Strategic Appointments
The Company has appointed three industry veterans to key roles:
- Thomas Credland — President
- Marc Turcotte — Director
- Dr. Charlotte “Charlie” Seabrook — Technical Advisor
These three professionals bring decades of global mining, exploration, and corporate development experience that Valkea believes will significantly strengthen its strategic direction and growth trajectory as it advances its portfolio of gold assets.
Leadership Perspective from Valkea
Chris Donaldson, Founder and Executive Chair of Valkea, commented on the appointments, emphasizing their importance at this stage of the Company’s development. He highlighted the considerable track record of value creation and discovery each new appointee brings to the team — including scale achievements in previous roles and landmark discoveries in Finland and internationally.
Donaldson specifically noted the significant increase in market capitalization achieved by Thomas Credland during his tenure at Rupert Resources, and the contribution of Dr. Charlotte Seabrook in the discovery and systematic exploration activities that led to success in the Central Lapland region. The addition of Marc Turcotte’s corporate development and capital markets experience further reinforces Valkea’s executive bench strength.
Profile: Thomas Credland — President
Thomas Credland joins Valkea Resources as President after a distinguished career in mining and exploration. A geologist by training, Credland has more than 25 years of industry experience. Prior to his new role, he served as Head of Corporate Development at Rupert Resources, where he played a central role in identifying core project assets in Northern Finland and guiding strategy, equity financings, and exploration efforts that contributed to significant project value growth.
Credland’s background spans international roles, including work as a gold geologist in Western Australia, mining analyst at Wood Mackenzie, and institutional mining sales at Canaccord Genuity in London. He holds a BSc in Geology (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Mineral Project Appraisal from Imperial College London.
Profile: Marc Turcotte — Director
Valkea has appointed Marc Turcotte as a Director. Turcotte brings more than 20 years of experience in mining development, corporate strategy, and capital markets. Most recently, he served as Chief Development Officer for MAG Silver Corp., contributing materially to the company’s growth and success leading up to its acquisition in a deal valued at approximately C$3 billion.
In addition to his executive experience at MAG Silver, Turcotte has held senior roles at notable mining companies including Hecla Mining Company and Aurizon Mines Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Economics (Honours) from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Profile: Dr. Charlotte “Charlie” Seabrook — Technical Advisor
Dr. Charlotte Seabrook joins Valkea as a Technical Advisor, bringing over 25 years of geological and exploration expertise. Dr. Seabrook is recognized for her geoscience-led approach to mineral discovery, notably during her tenure as Group Exploration Manager at Rupert Resources, where she helped assemble teams and implement exploration methodologies that led to the discovery of the 4 million ounce Ikkari Gold Project in Northern Finland.
Prior to that, she served as District Geologist for Newcrest in West Africa, participating in the discovery of the Seguela gold mine in Côte d’Ivoire, among other accomplishments. Dr. Seabrook holds a PhD from the University of Witwatersrand and an MSc in Mineral Resources from the University of Wales (Cardiff). She is also recognized as a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101.
Strategic Importance of the Central Lapland Gold Belt
The Central Lapland Gold Belt (CLGB) in northern Finland is one of the most active and prospective gold exploration regions in Europe. With multiple high-potential targets and ongoing systematic exploration, Valkea’s focus in this region positions the Company to potentially make significant new discoveries. The CLGB has attracted global exploration and development interest due to its known mineralization, structural trends, and success stories including major discoveries at nearby projects.
With nearly 400 square kilometres of land holdings across five core properties in this belt, Valkea has laid a strong foundation for exploration growth. The Company intends to apply disciplined geological methodology and systematic work programs to unlock the next generation of discoveries.
Looking Ahead: Exploration Plans and Market Impact
In announcing these appointments, Valkea also signaled its intent to provide further updates regarding exploration programs, additional technical hires, and appraisal work across its property portfolio in the coming months. These developments reflect broader plans to aggressively pursue discovery potential while enhancing operational capability.
Investors and stakeholders are encouraged to follow future corporate updates as Valkea continues to advance its projects and leverage its strengthened leadership team to create long-term value.
