The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) warned on November 28 that a new software directive affecting many Airbus A320‑family jets could disrupt some flights in the UK. According to CAA’s Director of Aviation Safety, Giancarlo Buono, regulators including European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have taken precautionary action after being alerted to a potential safety issue. As a result, airlines operating affected A320 aircraft may need to adjust schedules, and passengers are advised to check with their carriers to see if their flights might be affected.
