Scorpio Tankers Inc. (NYSE: STNG) announced on January 5, 2026, that it has entered into longâterm time charterâout agreements for two of its LR2 product tankers, the STI Rose and STI Alexis. Both vessels, built in 2015, will be chartered out for five years at a rate of $29,000 per vessel per day, with the charters expected to commence in the first quarter of 2026 in order to secure multiâyear contracted revenue for the company.
Scorpio Tankers, headquartered in Monaco, is a global provider of marine transportation services for petroleum products and currently owns or finances 93 product tankers, including 37 LR2, 42 MR, and 14 Handymax vessels, with an average fleet age of 9.8 years.
In addition to these charter agreements, the company has also entered into agreements to sell three LR2 product tankers, expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. Scorpio Tankers has further expanded its future capacity through agreements for four MR newbuildings (deliveries in 2026â2027), two VLCC newbuildings (deliveries in late 2028), and two LR2 newbuildings (delivery expected in late 2027).
