Samsung Electronics on Tuesday unveiled its first multi‑folding smartphone — the Galaxy Z TriFold — marking a bold step into a segment of the phone market where competition is ramping up. The Galaxy Z TriFold folds out into a 10‑inch display via three panels, making it nearly 25% larger than Samsung’s current flagship foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device carries a premium price tag of about 3.59 million won (roughlyâ€ŊUS$2,440). Manufactured in South Korea, the TriFold will hit domestic shelves on Decemberâ€Ŋ12, with launches in China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the UAE before year‑end. A United States rollout is expected in early 2026. The phone packs Samsung’s largest flagship‑series battery yet and supports super‑fast charging (50% in 30 minutes), aiming to deliver a compelling foldable experience. Even so, analysts caution the TriFold is more of a “technology showcase” than a mainstream flagship. As this is the first commercially released tri‑fold design, scaling production and ensuring durability remain open questions. Given these factors — along with high price and earlier efforts from rivals like Huawei and speculation of an upcoming foldable from Apple — foldables are still likely to remain a niche within the broader smartphone market. According to research firm Counterpoint Research, foldables are expected to account for under 2% of global smartphone sales in 2025, rising to less than 3% by 2027. #Samsung #GalaxyZTriFold #FoldablePhone #TechNews #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
