QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited, and Vector have jointly unveiled a new foundational vehicle software platform called Alloy Kore™, designed to simplify and speed up the development of Software‑Defined Vehicles (SDVs). The platform combines QNX’s safety‑certified operating system and virtualization with Vector’s modular middleware to create a scalable, integrated software foundation that helps automakers focus on innovation rather than rebuilding core software infrastructure. Alloy Kore aims to reduce integration overhead, enable centralized high‑performance compute units, and support over‑the‑air (OTA) updates for entire vehicle fleets.
Select OEMs, notably Mercedes‑Benz, are already engaging with the Alloy Kore Early Access program to prototype and integrate the solution into next‑generation SDV architectures. The early access initiative allows partners to provide feedback ahead of the fully certified release planned for late 2026, which will meet top functional safety (ISO 26262 ASIL D) and cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434) standards.
Leaders from both QNX and Vector highlight that Alloy Kore represents a strategic leap forward for the automotive industry by enabling faster innovation cycles, fostering collaboration, and encouraging adoption of open, modular software architectures across the automotive ecosystem. A live demo of Alloy Kore is being showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6–9.
