Powermax Minerals Inc. (CSE: PMAX; OTCQB: PWMXF; FWB: T23) has unveiled a PhaseâŊ1 exploration program for its newly optioned Pinard Project â a rareâearthâelement (REE) property in northern Ontario. The Pinard REE Property spans some 5,178 hectares, defined by 255 contiguous mining claims about 70âŊkm northânortheast of Kapuskasing, accessible via allâweather road.
PhaseâŊ1 is a hybrid program, combining historical data with fresh fieldwork to refine target areas for follow-up work. Steps include: desktop compilation and GIS modelling of all available geological, geophysical and geochemical datasets; systematic field prospecting and detailed geological mapping; multiâmedia geochemical sampling (rock, soil, stream sediments); handheld radiometric (scintillometer) surveys; and a highâresolution airborne magnetic and gammaâray spectrometric survey over key parts of the property.
The target geological setting â the Pinard Intrusive Complex â is an alkalic to peralkalic igneous body (syenitic to granitic phases), similar in character to other alkaline plutonic REEâbearing systems in the southern Archean Superior Province. Regionally, Pinard shares tectonomagmatic affinities with the nearby ClayâHowells Alkaline Complex (about 20âŊkm to the southwest), known for a niobiumâREE mineralized system. These geological features make Pinard a promising target for rareâearth exploration.
According to CEO Paul Gorman, the companyâs systematic approach â overlaying historic data with modern exploration techniques â aims to efficiently generate and prioritize âhighâquality targetsâ for potential trenching and drilling in later phases.
All technical information in the release has been reviewed and approved by qualified geologist Afzaal Pirzada under the standards of NIâŊ43â101.
