At the 2025 RSNA 2025 conference, Royal Philips unveiled Verida CT â the first fully AIâpowered, detectorâbased spectral CT system in the world. The launch marks a milestone in diagnostic imaging, as Philips integrates deepâlearning AI across the entire imaging chain, from acquisition to reconstruction, dramatically reducing noise, improving image quality, and speeding up workflow.
Verida builds on Philipsâ long history with spectral CT â a technology now backed by over 800 peerâreviewed publications and widely used in clinical practice. The new system delivers both spectral and conventional CT images from a single scan, with no compromise in scan time or performance. Thanks to its advanced âNanoâpanel Preciseâ dualâlayer detector and AIâpowered âSpectral Precise Imageâ reconstruction engine, Verida achieves sharp, highâdefinition images while enabling significant dose reduction and lowering energy use by up to 45%.
Performanceâwise, Verida reconstructs 145 images per second, allowing full exam results to appear in under 30 seconds â roughly twice as fast as before â and supports up to 270 exams per day. According to Philips, the system is optimized for highâthroughput environments, streamlining workflows, reducing repeat scans, and delivering consistent, highâquality imaging across a broad range of clinical use cases.
Clinicians are already optimistic: one cardiovascular radiologist noted that Verida could transform cardiac imaging routines and even reduce the need for invasive angiograms, while also benefiting other clinical areas. Philips plans to begin rolling out Verida in select markets starting in 2026 â following regulatory clearance.
