Koryx Copper Inc. (TSX‑V: KRY) has provided a detailed update on its two major exploration projects in Zambia: Luanshya West Project (54 km²) and Mpongwe Project (675 km²).
At Luanshya West, 2025 field work has progressed significantly — a drone‑mounted magnetic survey was carried out (50 m line spacing), alongside in‑fill and extended soil sampling and test pitting, revealing multiple new and refined copper (Cu) ± cobalt (Co) geochemical anomalies. Priority zones have been identified (e.g., LWT1, LWT3, LWT4, LWT6, LWT11) based on coincident geochemistry, structural features (faults), and geophysical chargeability anomalies, indicating promising copper-cobalt targets analogous to known deposits in the region.
Specifically:
LWT1: discrete Cu‑Co surface anomaly (~400 m strike), elevated Cu/Co values in pitting, adjacent to a reactivated sub‑basin fault — top priority.
LWT3 & LWT6: broad-to-moderate geochemical anomalies with anomalous Cu/Co at shallow depths, coinciding with fault structures and IP chargeability — potential structurally controlled mineralisation.
LWT4 and LWT11: moderate Cu anomalies with structural/geophysical support, also slated for drill testing.
Based on these findings, Koryx plans to launch its maiden drill program at Luanshya West in early 2026, targeting both direct anomalies and deeper exploratory holes (~3,000 m total drill length).
Meanwhile at Mpongwe, the company has completed a first‑pass regional surface geochemical sampling campaign, collecting ~5,000 soil samples over much of the licence area despite seasonal access challenges. Results are being compiled, with follow‑up work and potential drilling expected to begin in the first half of 2026, possibly in conjunction with the Luanshya West program.
Under the current agreement, Koryx holds an option to acquire up to 80% of both licences (currently at 51%), subject to fulfilling an additional US$3 million exploration expenditure over the next 30 months.
In sum: the 2025 exploration season has built a solid foundation for Koryx’s Zambia ambitions — with multiple robust, drill‑ready targets at Luanshya West and broad groundwork laid at Mpongwe. The next 12–18 months will be crucial as the company moves from surface work into drilling and deeper evaluation.
