Kioxia Corporation has officially introduced its new **KIOXIA BG7 Series solid‑state drives (SSDs)** aimed at **PC OEMs** building commercial and consumer notebooks and desktops. These drives are the first in the company’s client lineup to integrate **BiCS FLASH™ Generation 8 3D flash memory** with **CMOS Directly Bonded to Array (CBA) technology**, bringing improved performance and energy efficiency to mainstream systems.
The BG7 Series delivers enhanced performance with up to ~1,000,000 IOPS for random operations and up to 7,000 MB/s sequential read speeds, representing roughly 10 % to 16 % faster performance versus the previous BG6 series. Power efficiency in sequential writes is also improved by about 67 % thanks to optimized memory cells, control circuits, and SSD controller design.
KIOXIA expanded the BG7 product range with NVMe 2.0d support and a new M.2 Type 2242 form factor alongside existing 2230 and 2280 versions, giving OEMs more installation flexibility. The DRAM‑less design leverages Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology for cost‑effective performance. Capacities span from 256 GB to 2048 GB, and the drives include features such as PCIe® 4.0 compliance and optional self‑encrypting drive support.
KIOXIA plans to debut the BG7 Series at CES® 2026 in Las Vegas, where select OEM customers are already evaluating samples.
