Kincora Copper Limited has officially commenced its inaugural drill hole at the Wongarbon Project in New South Wales, targeting basement geology beneath the 173 km² licence area and a significant buried magnetic anomaly interpreted as a gold‑copper porphyry system.
The ~650‑metre drill hole is expected to take approximately 4 weeks and is being carried out with an anticipated cost to shareholders of under US$100,000 — thanks in part to a grant awarded by the NSW Government under its Critical Minerals & High‑Tech Metals Exploration Program.
The Wongarbon target lies within the highly prospective Macquarie Arc and shares a common transverse structural setting with major recent discoveries such as the 14.7 million oz gold‑equivalent Boda‑Kaiser deposits.
Kincora is also partnering with Fleet Space Technologies to deploy an AI‑powered ExoSphere platform integrating real‑time geophysical sensors, proprietary multiphysics surveys, geochemistry and AI‑enabled drill targeting.
In the words of Non‑Executive Director and Technical Committee Chair John Holliday: “This is virgin territory and a major opportunity with huge upside… The Wongarbon project is a real standout untested example of this signature in the right location and with the right features.”
President & CEO Sam Spring added that while “you can’t ever expect to make a discovery with your first hole”, the initial drill will provide “very valuable information to assist guide follow‑up activities.”
With the drill rig turning, Kincora is executing a capital‑efficient strategy across its portfolio aimed at unlocking major discovery potential in one of Australia’s top porphyry belts.
