Jindal Steel International says that government subsidies in Europe could play a crucial role if it proceeds with a takeover of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe (TKSE), the steel‑making arm of ThyssenKrupp AG. According to Narendra Kumar Misra, head of Jindal’s European operations, the company views the shift toward “green steel” not just as an environmental goal — but as economically sensible, provided subsidies are available. ThyssenKrupp has for years struggled to offload its steel business. In September, Jindal submitted an indicative bid to acquire TKSE. For Jindal, wrapping TKSE into a green‑steel strategy depends heavily on whether European subsidies will support the massive energy transition the deal would entail. As Misra put it, such financial support is a key consideration underpinning the bid. #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
