Holcim Finalizes Acquisition of French Precast Concrete Maker Alkern

Swiss building materials giant Holcim has announced the completion of its acquisition of Alkern, a leading French manufacturer of precast concrete products, in a move that expands the company’s footprint in the European construction market. The deal, finalized on January 6, 2026, brings Alkern’s network of more than 50 production sites across France and Belgium under Holcim’s ownership, along with approximately 1,000 employees. Alkern reported net sales of about €250 million (roughly $293 million) in 2025. Holcim did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
