Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd. (GMG) has announced that its graphene‑enhanced engine additive, G‑LUBRICANT, achieved a 13.8 % reduction in fuel consumption during a major Australian charity rally. The test took place in a standard petrol‑engine Ford Falcon which tackled 3,850 km of terrain — roughly 2,000 km on sealed roads and 1,850 km on unsealed, demanding tracks from Alice Springs to the Gold Coast. Before the treatment, the vehicle averaged 10.8 L/100 km; after applying G‑LUBRICANT, average consumption dropped to 9.3 L/100 km — a fuel savings of 1.5 L/100 km.
Team lead Scott Hubbard noted not only improved efficiency but also reduced engine temperature, smoother engine sound — despite extreme vehicle damage incurred during the rally (front‑end suspension failure, cracked windscreen, shredded tyres, gearbox issues). Remarkably, the only component that endured the full 3,850 km rally unscathed was the engine.
GMG CEO Craig Nicol expressed pride in the results and in supporting the rally team, noting consistent feedback of 10 %+ fuel savings with the product. Chairman Jack Perkowski called it a “great customer testimonial for such a great product.”
The event itself was a charity rally (not a race) involving vehicles worth just A$1,500 driving across some of Australia’s toughest roads to raise funds for Cancer Council Australia research. Over the past 15 years, Box Rallies like this one have generated approximately A$59 million.
GMG describes itself as a clean‑technology company that manufactures graphene via methane decomposition, and offers energy‑saving products (e.g., HVAC coatings) and battery technologies. The company is now scaling production and expanding market applications for its graphene‑based solutions.
