The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas), together with Hancock Whitney Bank, will present a US$15,000 grant to a New Orleans homeowner as part of a broader effort to provide more than US$500,000 in Disaster Rebuilding Assistance (DRA) grants to nearly 40 homeowners along the Gulf Coast. The grant will be awarded to homeowner Ivan Watkins in a ceremonial check presentation scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Central Time at 3650 Havana Street, New Orleans. Watkins intends to use the funds to install a resilient roof designed to secure his home against severe weather — a move highlighting the program’s emphasis on helping homeowners rebuild stronger after disasters. After the check presentation, there will be a photo opportunity and remarks at 1:30 p.m. CT at the Rebuilding Together New Orleans Resiliency Center, located at 2831 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans. Rebuilding Together New Orleans helped connect 12 Louisiana homeowners, including Watkins, to grant funding. Representatives from both FHLB Dallas and Hancock Whitney Bank — as well as local partners from Rebuilding Together New Orleans — are expected to attend. Media are invited to cover the event, with interview and photo opportunities available. #DisasterRecovery #GulfCoastSupport #FHLBDallas #CommunityResilience #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
