District Metals Corp. (TSXV: DMX) has announced the discovery of a major airborne Mobile Magnetotelluric (MobileMT) anomaly across its 100%‑owned Österkälen Property in Jämtland County, north‑central Sweden. The survey outlined a conductive low‑resistivity zone measuring approximately 8 km long and up to 3.5 km wide, which the company interprets as a substantial target of alum shale — a geological formation known to host critical and strategic metals.
This exploration advancement supports District Metals’ strategy to identify drill‑ready targets within its alum shale properties portfolio. It comes as the company also filed for an adjacent licence to expand the anomaly’s coverage area. The results mirror signatures previously observed at District’s flagship Viken Property.
While Sweden currently holds a moratorium on uranium mining, the government has indicated potential removal of the restriction as of January 1, 2026 — opening prospects for uranium‑rich zones and associated polymetallic potential in regions such as this.
