On December 5, 2025, Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX) revealed that via a wholly owned subsidiary it has signed a time charter agreement with Glencore Freight Pte. Ltd. for its Capesize dry‑bulk vessel, m/v P. S. Palios. The charter rate is set at US$ 25,200 per day, minus a 5% commission, with the hire starting December 14, 2025. The contract runs until at least November 15, 2026 — with the potential to extend through January 15, 2027. The P. S. Palios — a 179,134 dwt Capesize vessel built in 2013 — is projected to generate around US$ 8.34 million in gross revenue over the minimum period of the charter. As of now, Diana Shipping operates a fleet of 36 dry‑bulk vessels, spanning Newcastlemax, Capesize, Post‑Panamax, Kamsarmax, Panamax and Ultramax classes. The fleet’s combined carrying capacity (excluding two newbuilds pending delivery) is roughly 4.1 million dwt, with an average age of 12.03 years. Looking ahead, the company expects two new methanol dual‑fuel Kamsarmax vessels to join the fleet by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028. In short: the deal with Glencore represents a solid charter agreement for Diana, boosting its near‑term earnings and further filling employment for one of its large Capesize vessels. #shipping #DianaShipping #Glencore #maritimetrade #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
