Chinese electric‑vehicle manufacturer BYD Co Ltd plans to ramp up its international sales to between 1.5 million and 1.6 million units in 2026—marking a major increase compared with its expected 900,000 to 1 million overseas vehicles in 2025, according to a report by Citi. The company’s overseas mix is heading into Europe, North America and ASEAN markets, each accounting for roughly a third of total non‑China unit volumes in 2025. Meanwhile, BYD anticipates a drop in capital expenditure in the fourth quarter of this year and a more significant reduction in 2026, as vehicle and battery production capacity is expected to catch up with global demand.
