Boeing is focusing its efforts this week at the Dubai Airshow on repairing relations with its airline customers as the aerospace giant grapples with significant delays in its flagship twin‑engine widebody jet, the 777X. The company took a US$4.9 billion charge last month after announcing that deliveries had been pushed to 2027—seven years later than originally scheduled. In a departure from past shows where big announcements and order wins stole the spotlight, Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope said the focus now is on transparency, supplier and customer engagement, and outlining the path forward for certification—not on immediate order announcements. “It’s about engaging … and being transparent with our customers, highlighting the progress … and any issues or concerns that they have,” she said ahead of the show. One of Boeing’s largest customers for the 777X, Emirates, reportedly felt blindsided when the delay was announced via media rather than direct communication. Pope confirmed that Boeing has now won regulatory approval to advance to the next phase of the 777X’s certification trials. The company is also working to reset broader relationships—with staff, airlines, and suppliers—after more than five years of production disruption and corporate crisis. While demand for widebody jets remains strong, analysts say Boeing still has significant work to do before production and delivery return to historic norms. #Aerospace #Boeing777X #AirlineIndustry #DubaiAirshow #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
