At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on Monday, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CEO Lisa Su unveiled a new lineup of AI‑focused chips aimed at strengthening the company’s position in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence market. Su showcased the MI455, a high‑end AI processor designed for data‑center racks that AMD plans to sell to major customers including OpenAI, underlining the growing demand for powerful AI compute infrastructure. In addition, AMD introduced the MI440X, an enterprise‑oriented version of the MI400 series that can be deployed in standard business IT environments and is based on architecture set for use in an upcoming U.S. supercomputer. OpenAI President Greg Brockman joined Su onstage, emphasizing the importance of these chips for addressing the company’s substantial computing requirements. Looking ahead, Su offered an early preview of the MI500, slated for a 2027 launch and expected to deliver performance up to 1,000 times greater than older processors. The announcements come as AMD competes with rivals such as Nvidia, which also revealed its next‑generation AI platform at the event. #AMD #CES2026 #AIchips #TechInnovation #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
