Air India is actively searching for a new Chief Executive Officer to replace Campbell Wilson, according to people familiar with the matter, as the airline faces heightened scrutiny in the aftermath of a fatal crash in June that killed 260 people. The June accident triggered regulatory concerns over serious safety lapses, including allegations that some aircraft were flown without required emergency equipment checks, delays in replacing critical engine parts, potential record forgery, and shortcomings in managing crew fatigue. These issues have put significant pressure on the airline’s leadership and operations. Wilson, who assumed the CEO and Managing Director role in July 2022 after a long career at Singapore Airlines and its low-cost arm Scoot, was contracted to serve through 2027. However, his continuation in the position is now uncertain amid the current leadership review. Neither Air India nor its owners — the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines — responded immediately to requests for comment. The move to find a new CEO comes as the carrier strives to restore confidence and strengthen oversight following one of the worst aviation disasters in India’s recent history. #AirIndia #AviationLeadership #SafetyReview #CEOChange #SlimScan #GrowthStocks #CANSLIM
