Abu Dhabi Airports (AD Airports) has chosen BETA Technologies, a U.S. aerospace company, to supply certified charging infrastructure and battery thermal‑management systems for its planned advanced air mobility (AAM) network across the United Arab Emirates.
Under the agreement, BETA will deploy its “Charge Cube” chargers and Battery Thermal Management System at two initial sites: Al Bateen Executive Airport and Zayed International Airport. The system at Al Bateen has already been commissioned, with installation at Zayed International to follow shortly.
AD Airports was mandated this year to lead the development of infrastructure, operations and commercial readiness for a strategic network of up to 14 public vertiports around the UAE, slated for rollout through 2026. These hubs will support regional eVTOL (electric vertical‑take‑off and landing) flights and integrate ground and air electric mobility.
BETA will also provide technical consulting, installation support, training and maintenance services. According to BETA’s Charge Operations Lead, the company’s system is “the world’s first and only certified electric aviation charging and thermal‑management solution.”
Meanwhile, AD Airports’ CEO emphasised that the collaboration ensures “the robust infrastructure needed to make Abu Dhabi’s air taxi network a commercial reality, safe, sustainable, and built for the future.”
With this agreement, BETA expands its international footprint—building on its network of more than 50 sites across the U.S. and Canada—to help deliver the UAE’s future‑mobility ambitions.
